CDTPS MA alumnus Brad Fraser is presenting his revolutionary adaptation of Richard II by William Shakespeare at the Stratford Festival from May 23 until September 28. The story is about a king who believes that God gives him the right to live above the rules and who ultimately suffers the consequences. Fraser’s adaption is set in New York in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Fraser is one of the most widely produced Canadian playwrights both in Canada and internationally and has been a pivotal figure in the queer playwrighting scene.
He recently published his memoir All the Rage: A Partial Memoir in Two Acts and a Prologue and will be celebrating its launch on June 18 at the Rockwell Lounge in Stratford. Visit Brad Fraser at The Stratford Gay Bar for more details.
