Directors' Showcase: Little One
When and Where
Description
An eerie psychological thriller, Little One by Hannah Moscovitch is a dark and sometimes witty story about love and family. Aaron and Claire are two adopted children who become siblings in a well-to-do, liberal family in a good neighbourhood of Ottawa. This episodic memory play shows a fragile family struggling to make a successful family unit. We watch Aaron tell their story from his perspective with half confessions, prompted by confusion and guilt, while troubled Claire has a dangerous fascination with their neighbours, an I.T. specialist and his mail order bride. Little One asks questions about what is unconditional within family, probing the audience to consider what are the limits of love.
