Biography
Elizabeth is the first point of contact for the graduate MA and PhD programs at the Centre. She works directly with the Associate Director, Graduate. Please reach out to her with any questions regrading the Centre's graduate programs.
Elizabeth has been employed at the University of Toronto for almost 22 years. She spent 15 of those working in the Faculty of Medicine, primarily in Nutritional Sciences and Anatomy. Elizabeth also worked in the Dalla Lana School for Public Health at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, where she was the Graduate Assistant for their Clinical Epidemiology (MA and PhD) and Master of Health Informatics Programs, and spent 3 years as the Undergraduate Administrator/Business Officer in Anatomy, a most fascinating department.
Previous to U of T, Ms. Sutherland enjoyed a 16-year career as a Theatrical Stage Manager, where she honed her administrative talents and had the privilege of touring the globe on many professional projects. She studied theatre at the University of Winnipeg, after which she spent several years touring shows in Manitoba, Ontario, and many US states. After spending a glorious year in the UK with Hull Truck Theatre Company, which took her to the West End, the Edinburgh Festival and beyond, she eventually settled in Toronto and took up new residence at U of T.
