Sungwon Cho

Sungwon Cho (they/he) is an incoming M.A. student at the University of Toronto’s Center for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. They are interested in performance as a means of cross-cultural communication by bringing the struggles of under-represented communities to performing spaces. Their work is particularly concerned with the various diaspora groups that have migrated to Canada, and how these cultures have adapted to their new cultural and spatial context. By facilitating an accessible form of socio-political discussion, they hope to provide an alternative viewpoint from which audiences can better learn from the geopolitical events and crises of the past and present.
